Meet the Man behind the Machine
Willie Long, III is the owner and as of now the sole operator for Carolina Long’s Upholstery. His career in upholstery started at a young age while working for his father at his shop, Long’s Upholstery, which at the time was located off broad river road. Willie went on to earn a masters degree in Upholstery from Midlands Technical College in the early 80’s. He then went on to purchase the name from his father and became the sole owner and operator. With his masters degree he then went on to teach upholstery in a local penitentiary for several years, while running his own shop on Dutch Fork Road.
A while later Willie and his brother, Edward decided to join together as partners in the mid-late 80’s. After a decade the two decided to split in early 2004. Willie then relocated to a location off of Corley Mill Road in Lexington, South Carolina. Where he stayed for four years before moving to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He has lived in Myrtle Beach for ten plus years. Although a slight adjustment to the name the quality is still the same.
In his personal life he is the proud father to his daughter and a loving husband. Having been born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina Willie’s southern roots are the foundation for his caring personality; he is a gentleman no doubt.
